Fiscal Year 2014 PerformanceThe MBDA Business Center located in Baltimore, MD is operated by the City of Baltimore. The MBDA Business Center – Baltimore is committed to helping minority businesses gain access to strategy, access to capital, and access to procurement opportunities that when combined, stimulates the minority business’ and our Nation’s economic growth. To accomplish this, the Center levels the business playing field through its comprehensive approach and targeted services enhancing opportunities for minority businesses to flourish in the local, regional, domestic, and international economies.

The Center is a program federally-funded by the U. S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and operated by the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Minority and Woman-Owned Business Development (MWBD). The MWBD is dedicated to serving the needs of MBEs throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

The MBDA Business Center – Baltimore and the MWBD also provides a comprehensive network of strategic partners that includes commercial banks, private equity, subordinated and mezzanine lenders, public sector and private sector procurement access, professional services providers, and strategy consultants.

Whether it is strategic planning, business and operation improvement planning, financing, organizational growth through procurement, or business-to-business partnering; the MBDA Business Center – Baltimore team determines the right resources for its minority business clients.

Staff Information

Vernon MarrowVernon Marrow is the Special Director for the MBDA Business Center-Baltimore, which is affiliated with an operated by the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-Owned Business Development. Funded by the Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the MBDA Business Center’s mission is to grow and strengthen Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).

Vernon is responsible for the strategic direction, marketing, outreach, and operations for the Center. He also provides assistance to clients in strategic planning, private and public procurement, capital formation and finance, operations and business process enhancement.
