About this Center
The MBDA Business Center located in New Orleans, LA is operated by the Louisiana Minority Business Council. The center is part of a national network of funded centers located in major cities throughout the United States. The center works with minority business enterprises to generate increased financing and contract opportunities and to create and retain jobs.
The mission of the center is to strengthen the US economy by helping ethnic minority businesses create or retain jobs, and build economically vibrant socially responsible entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities.

Our Strategy
Develop a work plan according to the client capabilities and needs
Identify referral sources for MBEs not qualified for MBE
Identify procurement opportunities based on client competencies
Brokerfinancial transactions between clients and financing sources
Provide tailored business consulting to assist obtain requisites disadvantage business certifications as well as other management consulting services
Promote MBC clients to both the public and private sectors
Assist qualified MBEs with acquisitions or venture capital deals
The LAMBC seeks to form strategic business alliances between MBE’s, majority corporations and local, state and federal government agencies.

Project Director
Alvin-o Williams is a dynamic leader who focused on improving the economic opportunity and impact of the small and micro business community. He holds and Bachelors of Science in Scientific & Technical Communications, a Jurist Doctorate in Law, a Certificate of Leadership, and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt. Alvin-o has a vast amount of experience in micro, small and minority business development as a consultant, manager and senior executive and is a strong advocate for micro and small business owners.
