Brief description of call: Despite a history of drought, Ethiopia has significant agricultural potential across a wide range of micro-climates suitable for a wide variety of crops. To increase agricultural employment and income while bolstering export earnings, the Government of Ethiopia is offering a range of incentives to agricultural investors. These include free land use in designated regions, free well-drilling and connection to electricity, tax-free status for up to six years, and duty-free imports of capital equipment.

This webinar will on focus on agricultural opportunities for U.S. companies in Ethiopia. Ambassador Haslach will host the call and provide an introduction, which will be followed by an interactive question and answer session. The Ambassador will be joined by a panel of experts including Pol/Econ Chief Shannon Cazeau, USAID Senior Agricultural Advisor Cullen Hughes and Foreign Agricultural Service Counselor Quintin Gray.
