U.S. Department of Commerce Bureaus Assisting Minority-Owned and Small Businesses
The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is pleased to host a complimentary webinar focused on bureaus within the Department of Commerce (DOC) that can provide services, resources and tools that will assist minority-owned and small firms in expanding their businesses.
First presenter, the Under Secretary for the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Eric Hirschhorn will introduce the President's Export Control Reform Initiative and how it will impact minority-owned and small businesses. Learn about the resources and services available for businesses to comply with export control laws and regulations.
The second presenter, Heidi Sheppard, Advisor for Technology Partnerships, from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will discuss the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network; how the MEP Centers work with clients; and what tools the center's consultants use in their work.
