About This Center
The MBDA Business Center located in Bismarck, ND is operated by the United Tribes Technical College. The center is part of a national network of funded centers located in major cities throughout the United States. The Bismarck MBDA Business Center will provide minority entrepreneurs and businesses with the expertise and tools they need to compete globally and create good paying jobs in America.
The Center is located on the campus of United Tribes Technical College that is the Operator of the program. It was established in 1980 and continues to serve Native American and minority entrepreneurs and tribes in the region to pursuing economic prosperity. The campus of United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) is immediately south of the municipal airport at Bismarck, North Dakota. The site is a former military post transformed by the tribes of North Dakota for the purpose of educating and training American Indian students and their families for their economic, social and cultural advancement.

Brek Maxon - Project Director
Mr. Maxon began his tenure at the Center as a Business Development Specialist in 1992 assisting Native American entrepreneurs with general business counseling and business plan construction. He has assisted all types of clients from various business sectors that included agriculture, retail, services and construction. In this position, he has received training in a variety of business-related and program management topics through participation in conferences, seminars and workshops and other training events. Mr. Maxon assumed the Program Manager position in 2001 to the present.
Brek grew up on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, having attended High School in McLaughlin, SD. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary, Bismarck, in 1989 with a major in business and a minor in business communication. Brek is an enrolled member of the Mandan-Hidatsa-Arikara Nation.

Services include government procurement assistance, private sector contract identification and specialized certification assistance including 8(a), and assistance with market research.

Services include sales consulting and forecasting, market feasibility studies, operations management and quality control, bid preparation and bonding (construction), and manufacturing facility leasing.
