“Minority-owned business export activity spans 41 countries across the globe,” said David Hinson, National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) today during the 28th Annual Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference, in Washington, D.C. MBDA’s analysis of data from the U.S. Export Bank and the U.S. Census Bureau on minority-owned business export activity and growth was released by MBDA during the MED Week Conference. The focus of the conference, entitled “Strategies for Growth and Competitiveness in the Global Economy,” is to promote the global reach and export sales of minority-owned businesses.
Minority-owned businesses were found also to be twice as likely to export compared to non-minority-owned businesses. “Minority entrepreneurs are uniquely equipped to continue expanding into foreign markets and contribute to the President’s National Export Initiative which calls for doubling U.S. exports within the next five years,” said Hinson.
