Last month, MBDA participated in the 82nd Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) in Dallas, Tex. The USCM Annual Meeting is an opportunity for mayors from across the country to discuss the economic health of our cities through important issues including transportation, housing, infrastructure, and education.

MBDA had a strong presence at the event with National Director Alejandra Y. Castillo meeting with mayors from across the country and MBDA’s Chief of Business Development, Joann Hill, presenting on how MBDA works with our cities. This conference was a great opportunity for MBDA, as our mayors play a key role in the growth and prosperity in our cities by working the front lines to build our nation’s economy. Mayors also know that their top priority is to create jobs, and that is a goal shared by MBDA.

Castillo spoke with mayors about how MBDA can build stronger relationships with their cities in order to create wealth and sustainable new jobs in communities across the country. Hill presented on how MBDA can assist cities on a panel focused on job creation and business growth.

While MBDA-assisted firms gained access to $19.4 billion in capital and contracts last year, and created and retained nearly 60,000 jobs, we know there is more that can be done in collaboration with City Hall. By working with our nation’s mayors, MBDA looks forward to increased collaboration in creating stronger communities across the country.
