MBDA and Ex-Im Bank Partner to Increase Export Financing for Minority-Owned Businesses

The U.S. Commerce Department’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) announced a Global Outreach Alliance during the National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference on December 6, 2012. Both agencies aim to leverage their collective capabilities and resources to promote global projects that increase the opportunities for minority-owned business (MBEs) to export U.S. goods and services and increase the participation of minority-owned businesses in Ex-Im Bank’s financing programs.
MBDA Announces 2012 National Minority Enterprise Development Awards for Outstanding Leadership and Achievement in Minority Business Sector

The U.S. Commerce Department’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) today announced the 2012 National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week award winners. This year’s awards recognize the outstanding contributions of 12 private sector, non-profit entities and leaders in the categories of lifetime achievement, leadership, access to capital, exporting and manufacturing that have had a major impact in the growth of minority business enterprises. The winners will be honored on December 6, 2012, during the 30th Anniversary MED Week Conference.
